Ten beds, one bathroom of its own, and a door the grown-ups do not need to open

The bunk room is the reason Color House sleeps thirty-five instead of twenty-five, and it is the room children ask about before they ask about the pool.

Ten twin beds. Its own full bathroom, so the ten people in here are not queuing anywhere. A PS5. And a door onto the same hallway as the king suites, which is the part parents actually care about — the cousins get a sleepover, and they are still just down the hall.

One of our guests put it exactly that way: the kids “were able to have sleepovers in the bunk room and still be just down the hall from mom & dad.” Another called it “the bunk bed ‘cousins room’” without being prompted, which is what it becomes by the second night of every reunion.

Why a room like this matters in a house this size

Most large rentals solve a big group by scattering children across sofas, air mattresses and the floor of whichever bedroom has space. That works for one night. It does not work for a week.

Putting ten kids in one purpose-built room with real beds and their own bathroom does two things at once: it gives the children the best part of the trip, and it gives seven sets of adults their own rooms back.
