Golf groups are the easiest guests we host, and they have the most specific complaint about every other house they’ve stayed in: somebody always ends up on the pull-out, and there’s always a line for the bathroom at 6:15 in the morning.
Color House was not designed for golf trips. It was designed for thirty-five people who like each other, which turns out to be the same problem.

Sand Hollow is seven minutes away and it is the reason most groups pick this part of Utah. The Championship Course is the one with the holes out on the rim of the red rock — the ones that end up on everybody’s phone before the back nine. The Links and the Wee Course are at the same resort, which helps when your group has a wide range of abilities. Most groups do.
Counting Sand Hollow’s three layouts separately, that’s twelve golf courses within twenty-five minutes and thirteen within thirty.
One of our guests summed the location up faster than we can. Matt called it “minutes from the best courses St. George has to offer.”
Why golf groups actually rebook
Doug’s group has come six years running. They’ve played trips in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Oregon, and they told us Color House is their favorite property of the lot. Teddy’s summary was shorter: “The house was perfect for 12 guys on a golf trip.”
Here’s what we think is doing the work.
Seven bedrooms, seven private bathrooms. Six king suites plus the ten-bed bunk room, and every one of them has its own bathroom. Nobody negotiates for shower order. Nobody sets an alarm forty minutes early to beat the rush. If your tee time is 7:10, twelve men can be showered, caffeinated, and in the truck without a single conversation about it.
Real beds for everyone. Sleeps thirty-five. The flex room has a sleeper sofa, but if your group is under thirty you will never need it, which means no one is drawing straws.
A putting green in the backyard. It is not a serious putting green. It is the kind of putting green that produces a two-hour argument about a three-foot putt and a running tab that nobody settles. That is exactly the right kind.
A hot tub that’s always on, at 103°. Thirty-six holes in the desert does something to a back. The spa runs year round with no fee and no notice required — you just get in.
The game rooms. Two arcade cabinets with twenty-eight games, Skee-Ball, shuffleboard, foosball, ping-pong, Double Shot, a PS5 and an Xbox. This is where the evening actually goes.
A kitchen built for a crowd that says it won’t cook. Three refrigerators, two ovens, two dishwashers, two sinks, a 36-inch Blackstone and a full-size grill. Golf groups tell us they plan to eat out every night and then cook in four times out of five, because it’s easier and because somebody always wants to grill.
Three washers and three dryers. Five days of golf clothes in August is a real logistical event.
Parking for four to six vehicles, plus street parking and an overflow lot a short walk away, and an EV outlet. If your group is arriving in three trucks and a rental, they all fit.
The part nobody puts on a website
The pool is eight feet deep with a slide, a waterfall, a jumping platform and a basketball hoop. Grown men who came to play golf will end up playing pool basketball. We’ve stopped being surprised by it.
Pool heating is $125 a day with 24 hours’ notice, and we’d recommend it October through March. The slide and waterfall are shut off mid-November through February so the pipes don’t freeze — the pool and hot tub still work, but we’d rather tell you that now than have you find out on arrival.
What it costs to book direct
Same house, same dates, no platform fees. Booking direct here always beats the Airbnb price for your group — most guests save at least 10%. Utah lodging tax of 13.65% is added at checkout, and there’s no resort fee, no cleaning surprise, no per-person charge.
Split across a group of twelve, this is usually less per night than two hotel rooms and a rental car.

Check-in is 4:00 PM, check-out is 11:00 AM, and we send the address and door code three days out. Cancel within 24 hours of booking for a full refund, or 70+ days out for a full refund; 50% back at 30+ days.
